2nd Shift Production Hi-Lo Driver/Material Handler needed for Automotive manufacturing Company located in Sterling Heights, MI
Staff Source is seeking a 2nd shift Production Hi-lo Driver/Material Handler for facility located in Sterling Heights. Hi-Lo Driver/Material Handler is responsible for ensuring efficient material flow within the plant by unloading and unloading materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into Semi-trucks and storage facilities. Also responsible for keeping operations stocked with materials and supplies. Second Shift 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM. Position is temp to Hire. Pay range is $ $18.00 hour.
Responsibilities for Hi-Lo Driver/Material Handler:
- Loading and unloading of trucks according to BOL
- Stacking empty pallets and bins
- Labeling, packing, inspection of parts
- Checking loads are secure
- Moving goods in the correct storage bays, following Inventory Control Instructions.
- Stacking empty pallets/bins
- Operate the Hi-lo in a safe and responsible manner, abiding by the rules of safe Hi-lo operation and complete a daily Hi-lo checklist for the maintenance department.
- Must participate in 5S responsibilities
- Driver responsible to notify the maintenance department and their supervisor if the Hi-lo is not operating correctly.
- Dumping materials including scrap into machine hoppers
- Use of ERP System – Plex
- Empty scrap from containers into the correct scrap hopper.
- Support scrap pickup activities as required including weight certification of scrap containers
- Removing machine attachments and waste material from machines as required.
- Ensure that company policies and procedures are followed.
Requirements for Hi-Lo Driver/Material Handler:
- Must have knowledge and experience with ERP System – Plex
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Hi-lo driver in a manufacturing environment.
- Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs–ability to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, etc.
- Ability to follow MIOSHA safety requirements.
- Knowledge and compliance of safety procedures and policies required
